HOW TO BOLT UP HONDA V6 TRANSMISSION TO A V8 MOTOR

V6 transmission
V6 means basically 6 speed manual technically with available resources you can do anything there is nothing like is impossible it is all about putting the required resources passion and time. First you need to be aware of the problems that V6 transmission has. For instance you may experience your V6 has the following symptoms;
1.      Tranny acting up slowly shifts and at times it would kick out of gear
2.      Failure to downshift right or forcefully downshift with higher acceleration
3.      Upshifts might be grabbing when accelerating
4.      Delay in upshift
With this faultiest in your mind and you can still bolt it up on your V8 motor. Don’t wory I will walk you through V6 has great suspension great weight distribution and perfect brakes. First you need to beef up the suspension rear end, transmission, radiator frame etc. note that V6 transmission has 10spline shaft while V8 has at least 26. You need to spot WC first this can be spotted using the front bearing cup unless it has a belly housing which will make it impossible for you to see it. You just need to look at the reverser shift lever pivot bolt it is a hex head the bolt on the driver’s side transmission case near the top. NOT the drain plug and you don’t need to change the driveline.

 You will need different motor mounts. You need to put a mini spool in the rear. You will need a different radiator and I recommend a light tack weld here with a built of 350. It is impossible to pull the distributer while the engine is in the car so take your distributer outside before you set it back in the car. tie them up and run a carburetor. You can buy a set of sub frame connectors they can be of much help to you. You might need a different clutch assembly based on the upgrade. You will have to cut the fender wells relocate the motor mounts then change the electronics, steering box and adopters. This might coast you around $8900.

There are some effects that you may get after you have used the car for sometimes. you can tear a gear out, lack of spark or fuel indicators  and the theft light will keep blinking. This is only from few people who experience those but we also have a chance of it being just fine for a very long time. Plus about the anti-theft alarm you will need to re-program   it’s not a good idea to mix and match the electrical components.

GOODLUCK
